WOVEN CHAIR

SETTING THE DINING ROOM | FALL 2019

This project is influenced by the primary color theme and wood joinery method of the Red and Blue Chair by the Dutch designer Gerrit Rietveld. Taking into account dining postures and positions, the chair is designed to provide the user maximum comfort by sculpting around the person as they sit. The chair is designed specifically for each person, a sort of designated chair for each individual.

The dining chair is primarily a wooden frame with a woven seat and backrest. The backrest is given a metal tubing skeleton for support.
